Online Stores Built to Win on Margin, Not Just Traffic

We treat checkout conversion as an engineering problem, not a design problem. The friction is in the code — slow load times, too many form fields, missing payment methods, broken mobile layouts.

Who this is for

Getting traffic to an online store is the easy part. The problem is the 70% of visitors who add to cart and don't buy — and the margin you're leaving on every order because checkout friction drove them to a competitor.

Most e-commerce projects focus on the homepage. We focus on the checkout. A beautiful homepage that leads to a slow, confusing, mobile-unfriendly checkout is a customer acquisition cost with no return. We reverse-engineer the purchase path from the payment confirmation screen backwards.

We've built storefronts for D2C fashion brands, B2B industrial suppliers, food and grocery platforms, and multi-vendor marketplaces. What separates a store that grows from one that stagnates: speed on mobile, trust signals at the decision point, and a checkout flow that doesn't make someone work to give you money.

D2C brands outgrowing an existing template store and needing a custom storefront

Businesses migrating from Magento or a legacy platform to Shopify or a modern stack

B2B suppliers building a self-serve ordering portal for their trade customers

Retailers expanding from brick-and-mortar to online and needing India-ready payment integration

Multi-vendor marketplace operators who need custom commission logic and seller dashboards

What we build

How we reduce cart abandonment

Checkout Conversion Optimisation

One-page checkout, guest checkout option, address autofill, and pre-filled return customer fields. Every friction point in the payment journey mapped and removed before launch.

India-Ready Payment Integration

Razorpay, PayU, CCAvenue, Instamojo, and UPI integration with proper error handling and retry flows. Not just connected — tested with real transaction flows on real devices before launch.

Mobile Commerce Performance

Sub-3-second product page loads on a 4G connection. Lazy-loaded images, skeleton screens, and touch-optimised UI tested on budget Android devices — not just a flagship phone.

Search & Discovery

Algolia or native full-text search with filtering, facets, and typo tolerance. Customers who can't find the product don't buy it — search quality is a revenue line item.

Inventory & Order Management

Real-time stock tracking, low-inventory alerts, multi-warehouse support, and order management workflows. Includes Shiprocket, Delhivery, or custom courier API integration.

Post-Purchase Retention

Transactional email sequences, order tracking pages, review request automation, and loyalty mechanics — the infrastructure for repeat purchase that most stores build too late.

Technology

The stack — and why

Shopify for brands that want speed to market and a proven ecosystem. WooCommerce for businesses with complex product logic or tight WordPress integration. Headless Next.js Commerce for high-traffic stores where performance is a revenue driver. We tell you which — and why — in the scoping call.

How we work

From product catalogue to first order

01

Conversion Audit

Week 1

For existing stores, we run a conversion audit: session recordings, checkout funnel drop-off analysis, Core Web Vitals on mobile, and payment method gap analysis. For new stores, we benchmark against your top three competitors.

02

Platform & Architecture Decision

Week 1–2

Shopify vs WooCommerce vs headless — with a written rationale based on your catalog size, traffic projections, and customisation requirements. Not a default choice.

03

Build & Integration

Week 3–8

Storefront development, payment gateway integration with real test transactions, logistics API connection, and inventory import from your existing system.

04

Load Test & Launch

Final week

Performance testing under 10x expected peak load before go-live. Checkout flow tested on 5+ real mobile devices with all target payment methods. Launch monitoring for the first 48 hours.

Why Spacelinkers

The conversion problems most agencies miss

01

We test on budget Android, not just iPhones

70% of Indian e-commerce traffic comes from Android devices — many of them mid-range. We test on Redmi, Realme, and Samsung Galaxy A-series devices as part of our QA process. Your product pages need to load fast on these, not just on a developer's MacBook.

02

Payment integration includes error handling

Most agencies integrate Razorpay and call it done. We test every payment failure state, timeout scenario, and retry flow. A failed payment with a confusing error message loses the order — clear error handling recovers it.

03

We build the post-purchase infrastructure too

The store that only optimises for acquisition stagnates. Transactional emails, order tracking, review requests, and loyalty mechanics — the repeat purchase infrastructure — is part of our scope, not a phase two.

04

Load tested before launch, not after

We run load tests at 10x expected peak traffic before go-live. A sale campaign that crashes your checkout at 3pm is a brand problem, not just a technical one.

FAQ

Questions we get before every e-commerce solutions project

Shopify or WooCommerce — which should we use?
Shopify for most D2C brands: it's faster to launch, the ecosystem is mature, and the total cost of ownership (including developer time) is often lower. WooCommerce for businesses with complex custom logic, tight WordPress integration, or specific hosting requirements. For very high traffic stores where performance is critical and you want full control, a headless Next.js storefront is worth the extra build cost. We'll give you a written recommendation with rationale in the scoping call.
Which Indian payment gateways do you integrate?
Razorpay, PayU, CCAvenue, Instamojo, Cashfree, and Paytm Payment Gateway — with proper test mode configuration, webhook handling, refund flows, and failure state testing. We also implement UPI QR, UPI Collect, and net banking flows specific to the Indian market. Not just connected — tested with real transaction scenarios before launch.
Can you migrate our existing store without losing data or rankings?
Yes. Migration includes product data, customer records, order history, and SEO URL redirects. Every existing URL is mapped to a redirect before the new site goes live. We don't delete products and re-enter them manually — we build migration scripts that handle the full catalogue. Search Console submission and crawl monitoring starts the day of launch.
How do you handle the store going down during a sale campaign?
Load testing before the campaign. We simulate 10x expected concurrent traffic in a staging environment, identify bottlenecks, and fix them before the real event. For Shopify stores this is mostly about app and theme performance. For custom stores, it's infrastructure scaling and CDN configuration. We've done Black Friday prep for e-commerce clients — we know which things break under pressure.
What does an e-commerce project typically cost?
A Shopify store with custom theme and standard Indian payment integration starts from ₹80,000–₹1,50,000. WooCommerce builds with custom functionality run ₹1,20,000–₹2,50,000. Custom or headless storefronts are scoped individually — typically ₹3,00,000–₹8,00,000+. These include checkout optimisation, payment testing, and basic post-purchase email setup.
Can you build a multi-vendor marketplace, not just a single-seller store?
Yes. Marketplace architecture adds seller onboarding, commission calculation, split payments, and per-seller inventory and order management. We've built these on both custom Node.js backends and Sharetribe/similar frameworks. Marketplaces are significantly more complex than single-seller stores — we scope them with that complexity factored in.
Do you handle product photography or content for the store?
No — we're an engineering team, not a creative agency. We set up the product content structure, import pipeline, and CMS interface for your team to manage. We recommend specialist e-commerce photographers and copywriters and can coordinate with them on file format and content requirements.
What support do you provide after the store launches?
A 30-day warranty on bugs, followed by optional monthly retainers covering platform updates, payment gateway changes, performance monitoring, and feature additions. Shopify stores also need ongoing app and theme version management — we include a monthly health check on all retainer plans.
